Northfield

Located on the prestiguous Northfield Road connecting Highfield with Poulner and beyond, Northfield (original) represented a single storey bungalow with a modest/compromised first floor addition within the roof void. Whilst fully performing on a functional, accomodation basis, the clients sought toadd to the footprint whilst enhancing the internal volumes and character. In particular, the desire was to maximise potential to view obver and enjoy the lakeside frontage to the rear.

The design proposals sought  to introduce a strong gabled vernacular with a cascading layer of hierarchy. To the first  floor the gables provide a full width master suite with view over the lake. To the ground floor, a gabled (vaulted) extension to the kitchen provides an open, gfree flowing Kitchen/Dining/Family space once more over viewing and relating to the raera garden and its lake frontage.
